Vlahović: Beşiktaş is the best decision for my career

Dušan Vlahović has confirmed that his move to Beşiktaş was the best decision for his career, pointing out that the insistence of the Turkish club and his coach Vincenzo Italiano played a crucial role in his choice.

Dušan Vlahović stated in comments reported by Mozzart Sport: "I spoke with many clubs, and since I was a free player, that was natural. I thought long and was patient, and in the end, I believe I made the best decision for my career, and time will show whether that is correct, but I am convinced of it."

He explained the reason for his choice of Beşiktaş: "They did everything to sign me. They tried to contact me throughout the summer, and that made me very happy. I think the important thing in life is to go to the place that wants you the most. Their ambition and project, and most importantly, coach Italiano, played a key role. I worked with him at Fiorentina, and perhaps that aspect was the most important."

Speaking about his departure from Juventus, Vlahović emphasized that he holds no grudge against the club, stating: "I spent four and a half wonderful years at this club, and it was a great honor and pleasure to wear the Juventus shirt, represent it, and score goals. I only regret that I didn't get a bigger chance to compete for titles."

Dušan Vlahović has denied many of the claims regarding his contract renewal conditions with Juventus, stating: "It was written that I was putting several conditions for a new contract with Juventus, but a large part of that was not true. During three years of talking about renewing my contract, I did not have any specific conversation with the club's management until the end of the season."

The Serbian striker discussed sitting on the bench at the start of last season, considering that the main reason was the approaching end of his contract: "In my opinion, that was the only reason that made me start the season from the bench. Of course, two new strikers also arrived, but I accepted that and chose to move in that direction. There was pressure from the fans, the media, and supporters, but I know the truth and I know what happened."

Dušan Vlahović has not closed the door on a return to Juventus in the future, stating: "In football, no one knows what can happen. Never say never. I do not rule out any option. This club has given me a lot, and I have always tried to repay it in the best way possible. I am very grateful to Juventus, it is a huge club, one of the biggest in the world, and the biggest in Italy, and it holds great significance for me."
