Croatian Luka Modrić, a player for AC Milan, spoke about the reasons behind his decision to join the Italian club after leaving Real Madrid, emphasizing that the history and stature of the Rossoneri were among the key factors that made his decision easier.

In his statements, the player said: "The expectations here are very high as well. AC Milan is one of the best clubs in the world, and it is a historic club that perhaps has not achieved the results everyone is used to in recent years, but that does not change the fact that it is still a massive club and one of the most loved clubs in the world."

He added: "When you arrive here, you feel it. You breathe the history of AC Milan. You feel it here at the training ground as well. How many legends and how many great players have played here."

Luka Modrić has revealed that his connection to AC Milan dates back to his childhood, explaining: "When I was a child watching Italian football, AC Milan was my favorite team. So several factors made the decision easier after Real Madrid, as I have always felt a great affection and respect for AC Milan. When the opportunity arose after Real Madrid, I had very few doubts."

The Croatian player spoke about the upcoming season, discussing the necessity of improving the team's results compared to last season. He said: "We need to perform better than last year. For a long time, we played extremely well, and we were largely in the title race until March, but then in the last few matches, we almost threw everything away and failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. That was a heavy blow for AC Milan, because Milan, given its history, should participate in the UEFA Champions League every year. It is the second club in terms of titles after Real Madrid."

Luka Modrić spoke about the changes that AC Milan has undergone, confirming that the club's stance towards him was a key factor in his decision to remain. He said: "This year, there have been many changes in the team, a new coach, and a large number of new players, and the club considered me an important part of the project. They wanted me to be here, and that's why I stayed. I want to compete, give everything I have, and try to bring AC Milan back to winning ways, all together; one player alone cannot achieve that."
