Royal Antwerp officially announces the signing of Álvaro Cortés

Royal Antwerp have officially signed Spanish Álvaro Cortés from FC Barcelona on a four-year deal.

The Belgian club has clarified on its official website that Cortés, who is 21 years old, plays as a centre-back and is distinguished by his use of his left foot.

Álvaro Cortés faced Royal Antwerp while playing for FC Barcelona in September 2023, when he started in the match between the two teams in the UEFA Youth League.

At the end of last season, the Spanish defender made his first appearance with FC Barcelona's first team before moving to Royal Antwerp to continue his career.

The club concluded its announcement by welcoming the player, saying: "Welcome to Royal Antwerp, and good luck Álvaro."
