Official: Atalanta announces the signing of Jonathan Rowe on loan

Atalanta have officially signed Englishman Jonathan Rowe on loan from Bologna, with an option to buy and a clause that will require the deal to be completed if certain conditions are met.

Rooey began his career with AFC Wimbledon before joining the Norwich City academy, where he made his first-team debut at the age of 17. He played 13 matches in the Premier League during the 2021/2022 season, and then excelled with Norwich in the 2023/2024 season, scoring 12 goals in the EFL Championship, before moving to Olympique Marseille.

During his season with Olympique Marseille, he participated in 31 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists, before moving to Bologna in 2025.

In his first season in the Italian league, he scored three goals, as well as netting one in the Coppa Italia, and contributed four goals and two assists in Bologna's UEFA Europa League campaign.

On the international stage, Rooey was one of the standout players for the England U21 team during their triumph in the 2025 UEFA European Championship, scoring a goal in the final against Germany that led his country to a 3-2 victory.
