Porto officially announces signing of Santiago Gimenez
FC Porto announced on Monday evening that they have officially signed Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez from AC Milan on loan with an option to buy.
Santiago Gimenez, 25, had a standout experience with Feyenoord before moving to AC Milan, where he scored 65 goals and provided 14 assists, winning three titles with the club, including the Dutch league and the KNVB Cup.
Mexican forward Santiago Gimenez joined AC Milan in February 2025, and he has managed to score important goals. He also became the record holder for the most goals scored by a Mexican player in a single UEFA Champions League season, having scored 6 goals, surpassing the previous record shared by Hugo Sanchez and Javier Hernandez.
On the international level, Santiago Gimenez has played 51 matches with the Mexico national team, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2023 and 2025, and the Concacaf Nations League in the 2024-2025 season. He also participated with his country in the Copa América and the FIFA World Cup 2026. He will wear the number 29 shirt with FC Porto.
