Sami Al-Trabelsi: We will improve in the future and an important win from Mosul

Sami Al-Trabelsi, the Tunisian coach of Al-Shorta, spoke with confidence and satisfaction after leading the team to an important victory against Mosul by two goals to nil this evening at Al-Qafas Stadium in the Iraq Stars League.

The victory lifted the tally of "Al-Qithara Al-Khadra" to 7 points, returning the team to winning ways after recent setbacks.

The Tunisian coach appeared satisfied with his team's overall performance, stating that Al-Shorta were the better side throughout the match.

Al-Trabelsi said at the press conference after the match:

"I congratulate the players on this deserved victory. From the start, we were the ones who imposed our style on the match. We dominated possession and created many chances, and we could have come away with a bigger result."

He added:

"Cristian Barco's first-half goal was disallowed for offside, but the players' reaction was excellent. They entered the second half with the same mentality and we managed to score through Ahmed Yahya, then we confirmed the victory with the second goal."

The coach particularly praised the team's tactical discipline.

"I asked the players for patience and not to rush. Al-Shorta is a big team and opponents must be respected, but at the same time, we impose our character. Today, we saw that clearly."

The coach did not forget to praise the attacking duo Ahmed Yahya and Cristian Barco, who scored the goals of the match.

Regarding this, he said:

"Ahmed Yahya is a professional player and knows how to handle set pieces and headers. And Barco came back strong after his first goal was disallowed, which shows great character."

However, the coach returned and confirmed that the victory was not complete without mentioning the injury suffered by Mosul player Simon Amin in the 61st minute.

"First and foremost, we wish our brother Simon Amin a speedy recovery. The injury was severe, and we are all football and one family. We pray for his quick healing and return to the pitch."

Al-Tarabulsi did not want to get carried away with the celebration despite the significance of the win, and preferred to talk about the upcoming work.

He said:

"7 good points but they are not enough. The league is long and the competition is tough. We are Al-Shorta and our goal is always the top. We will close the file on this match from today and start thinking about the next encounter."

The coach of Al-Shorta concluded his remarks by thanking the team's fans.
