Ajax coach praises Amrabat: he is a world-class player

Ajax Amsterdam coach Michel has given a strong endorsement of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, affirming that the player has the attributes that will offer the team an important addition. This comes after the Dutch club's management made considerable efforts to persuade him to join their ranks.

Michel stated in a media interview: "He is a world-class player, and I am convinced he will help us a lot. He has come with great enthusiasm and a special motivation to contribute to Ajax's development and for us to be a highly competitive team in all three competitions."

Ajax coach revealed that Amrabat was the club's first choice, despite considering several names before finalizing the deal, noting that negotiations lasted a long time to secure his agreement.

He explained: "We had several options, but he was our first choice, and we fought for a long time to convince him to accept our offer, and we are very happy with his arrival."

Michel discussed the expected role of Amrabat within Ajax's system, emphasizing that his experience and understanding of the defensive midfielder's duties will provide the team with more balance and strength.

He added: "Sofyan understands the number 6 position perfectly. He is a player who will give us balance, character, and leadership. Often, it is not necessary for the ball to go through him for the team to play well, but with him, we will be a very strong team, both in attack and defense."
