Gasperini before Lecce clash: We want consistency and need a striker and a full-back

Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta's coach, spoke about the upcoming clash against US Lecce, emphasizing that the match will not be easy, especially given the positive start of the hosts.

He said: "US Lecce will play in front of a full stadium with great enthusiasm, and they have also won away from home, so it will be a complicated and difficult match. All Serie A matches are tough, and physical fitness will play an important role."

Gasperini added: "We need to be very good at achieving consistency, and I’m talking here about performance before results. The performance we delivered against ACF Fiorentina was extremely valuable, and we need to confirm that against US Lecce."

Regarding the signing of Marten de Roon, Atalanta's coach said: "The deal was completed very quickly within 24 to 48 hours. He had a special situation after many years with Atalanta, and he was very eager to come back to Atalanta. For us, it is an important opportunity, as he is a player with strength, experience, and character, which is what we needed in midfield."

Gasperini has revealed that Atalanta are still looking for new reinforcements before the transfer window closes, stating: "We need to complete the team, not just increase the numbers. We still need at least one player, and I hope to sign a full-back and another forward. If we can bring in two, that would be ideal, and we will see what can be done in the last two days."
