Ajax have officially announced an agreement with Moroccan Sofyan Amrabat to join the team on a free transfer until June 30, 2028.

Sofyan Amrabat has joined Ajax after reaching an agreement earlier today, Saturday, with his former club Fenerbahçe to terminate the contract between the two parties, making the defensive midfielder available for a free transfer.

Sofyan Amrabat, aged 30, returns to the Dutch league after many years of playing abroad, having started his career with Utrecht before wearing the shirts of Feyenoord, Club Brugge, Hellas Verona, ACF Fiorentina, Manchester United, and Fenerbahçe.

During last season, Sofyan Amrabat had an experience in LaLiga with Real Betis, before returning to the Dutch league through Ajax, benefiting from his vast experience at both European and international levels.

On the international stage, Sofyan Amrabat is one of the standout players for the Moroccan national team, having recently participated in the FIFA World Cup for the third time with the Atlas Lions, continuing his presence with the team after a rich international career filled with appearances.

Jordan Cruyff, an official at Ajax, praised the completion of the deal, stating: "We are very happy to have signed Sofyan. He is a physically strong player with exceptional technical abilities and has significant international experience. He also knows the Dutch league well, so we expect him to adapt quickly. We have signed the player we were exactly looking for."

With his joining Ajax, Sofyan Amrabat begins a new phase in his career, as the Dutch club hopes that the Moroccan midfielder will be a strong addition to the midfield, thanks to his experience and ability to play as a defensive midfielder.
