Official: Real Sociedad Signs Hector Fort

Real Sociedad has announced that it has reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign young defender Hector Fort, after the Basque club also finalized personal terms with the player, leading to a contract that will run until the end of the 2030-2031 season.

Fort was born in Barcelona in 2006 and joined La Masia academy in 2013, progressing through various youth categories at Barcelona before reaching the first team, where he made his debut in 2023 during a match against Royal Antwerp in the Champions League.

During his time with Barcelona's first team, the Spanish defender participated in 30 matches, before moving last season to Elche on loan, aiming to gain more playing time and experience in La Liga.

Fort delivered solid performances with Elche, playing 17 matches last season, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, continuing to develop his skills and attract the interest of Real Sociedad.

The player is distinguished by his ability to play in both right and left-back positions, along with his speed and offensive runs on the flanks, as well as his capability to advance into the penalty area and create danger in front of the opponents' goal.

Real Sociedad sees Fort as an addition for the future, given his youth, versatility in positions, and potential for development, as he officially joins the team and begins a new chapter in his career in San Sebastián.
