Chelsea close to signing Atalanta defender

Chelsea are making moves to strengthen their squad with young talent, having entered advanced negotiations with Atalanta to sign Italian defender Honest Ahanor during the current summer transfer window.

Reports from Italy indicate that negotiations between the two clubs have made significant progress in recent hours, with both parties nearing an agreement worth over €40 million in a new deal that could strengthen the cooperation between Chelsea and Atalanta.

Chelsea are working to finalize the signing of Ahannour for €40 million, making him the second defender from Atalanta to join Chelsea during the current summer transfer window, following Italian Marco Palestra.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with the Italian club to sign Marco Palestra for €57 million, plus an additional €3 million in incentives, while Atalanta retain 10% of the player's future resale value.
