Real Sociedad Close to Signing Hector Fort

Real Sociedad is close to finalizing the signing of Hector Fort, the Barcelona full-back, during the current summer transfer window, as the Basque club has accelerated negotiations with the player, making them the frontrunners for his services.

According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Real Sociedad is close to completing the signing of Fort, 20, who also had an attractive offer from Borussia Dortmund. However, the German club's hesitation in making a decision has given the Spanish side the opportunity to accelerate negotiations and move forward with the deal.

Hector Fort has been out of the plans of Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, in recent times, as the player has been training away from the group in the past weeks to avoid injury while preparing for his departure from the club.

The Joan Gamper Sports City witnessed a meeting today, Wednesday, between Barcelona's sports management and the player's agents, Arturo Canales and Fernando Solanas, to advance negotiations and break the deadlock surrounding the deal.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Barcelona will receive around €8 million from the sale of Hector Fort, while the Catalan club will retain 50% of the player's rights.

Barcelona is keen to retain a portion of Fort's rights, given the player's significant potential. Therefore, they have decided to keep half of his rights in anticipation of his success with Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium.
