Nico Gonzalez Joins Newcastle Ahead of Manchester City Move

Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez arrived in Newcastle today, preparing to complete his transfer to Newcastle United from Manchester City, with the deal entering its final stages before the official announcement.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the two clubs reached an agreement yesterday for the transfer of the midfielder for £50 million, which includes £47 million as a fixed fee, along with an additional £3 million in add-ons and incentives related to the deal.

Newcastle has today completed the official document exchange with Manchester City, with the next step being the player's medical examination before signing contracts and announcing the transfer officially.

Gonzalez joined Manchester City from Porto in February 2025, in a deal worth around £50 million, before becoming close to embarking on a new experience in the Premier League with Newcastle.
