Official: Atlanta United Signs Breel Embolo

Atlanta United has officially announced the signing of Swiss striker Breel Embolo from French club Rennes, in a deal that runs until the summer of 2029, bolstering the team's lineup for the upcoming Major League Soccer season.

According to reports, the transfer fee is around €15 million, with other reports estimating it between €15.4 and €17 million. Embolo will occupy the designated player spot in Atalanta's roster.

The transfer of the 29-year-old comes after just one season with Rennes, where he scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 34 matches across all competitions.

He also shone with the Switzerland national team at the 2026 World Cup, scoring two goals and providing two assists during the team's journey that ended in the quarter-finals.

Breel Embolo has chosen to embark on a new experience in Major League Soccer, joining Atlanta in a notable attacking deal, despite interest from a number of European clubs.
