Nottingham Forest Leads Race for Casado
Nottingham Forest is leading the race to sign Marc Casado, the Barcelona midfielder, during the current transfer window, as the Catalan club is prepared to allow the player to leave, according to "TEAMtalk".
Casado, 22, has fallen down the pecking order for midfielders under Hans Flick, having started only 10 matches last season. He believes that leaving would be the best option to develop his career.
The uncertainty surrounding his future has increased after Anthony Gordon received the number 17 shirt that was worn by Casado. City Football Group and BlueCo attempted to sign him, but he rejected a move in this manner.
The Spanish player is eager to join a club that provides him with the chance to participate regularly. Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Sunderland have also shown interest in him.
Manchester United had held talks with Casado, but they exited the race after reaching an agreement with Carlos Baliba. Meanwhile, Benfica and clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are monitoring the player's situation.
Barcelona is preparing to listen to offers for Casado, as the player desires a greater opportunity to participate and continue his development, making a departure from the Catalan club a strong possibility.
