German Professional Praises Iraqi League

The new season of the Iraq Stars League has witnessed clear changes in organization, performance, and refereeing, as confirmed by German professional Robert Bauer, who plays for Mosul, following his team's 2-1 victory over Diyala in the second round.

The 30-year-old player, who excels as a center-back, right-back, and right winger, is in his second season with Al-Hamameen and is considered one of the important options in coach Haitham Al-Shboul's lineup.

The German defender spoke about his impressions of Iraqi football, noting that the experience here is unique compared to other countries he has played in.

He said: "I have played in seven other countries, including Germany, but I have never seen a place with such passion and difference like Iraq."

He added: "Here, football is followed very closely by the fans. All ages watch the matches and notice the finest details, and the level of play is also completely different."

Powell praised the changes that have occurred in the league this season, particularly regarding the pace of matches and player behavior on the pitch.

Regarding the goals of the Mosul team this season, Power stressed that the ambition is greater than mere survival, and that the atmosphere within the team supports this.
