Rashid Jaber: We need time to restore the team's spirit and aim to win against Al-Mosul
New-old coach Rashid Jaber has confirmed that Al Quwa Al Jawiya still has a long way to go for his team to return to winning ways, pointing out that the primary goal at this stage is to achieve stability within the team.
Jaber spoke during the press conference held by the club before traveling to Duhok to face Mosul in the ninth round of the Iraqi Premier League.
Captain Rashid Jaber began his remarks by saying: "At the outset, I am happy to be with the family again, and there is still a long road ahead of us. We need some time to restore the spirit of the team, and we are currently working on achieving stability, which is our primary goal."
The Omani coach added: "Everyone must come together and work for the name of the entity. The return of the family is not as difficult as some perceive, and what we want from the players is to show spirit on the pitch and prove that to everyone."
Jaber has sent a special message to the Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya fans, saying: "We need the support of the Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya fans behind the team, as we have always known it, and as it was a strong support for us in last season when we won the league title."
Rashid Jaber's return to lead Al Quwa Al Jawiya is seen as a lifeline for the club's management after a poor start to the season and a series of disappointing results that have left the team in 13th place with only 8 points.
For his part, forward Murad Mohamed confirmed that the international break was very positive for the Falcons, as it gave the team a chance to catch their breath and reorganize.
Murad said: "The break was positive for the team, and with the return of the coaching staff led by Captain Rashid Jaber, who worked to revive the team's spirit, we are now more prepared for the upcoming phase."
He added: "We will give everything we have on the pitch, and we have the determination and resolve to deliver our best. We promise our fans that we will do our utmost in the upcoming matches."
Murad concluded his speech with an inspiring message to the fans: "The match against Mosul will be the true starting point for the team to return to the right path, and as players, we understand the weight of the responsibility on our shoulders to bring joy to the loyal Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya supporters."
Al Quwa Al Jawiya hope that their match against Mosul, scheduled for Wednesday at Duhok Stadium at 6 PM, will be a turning point in their season, especially as the team comes off a disappointing 1-1 draw against Diyala in the last round.
