Sfaxien Suffer Blow as Hicham Bakar Out for Three Months
Sfax Club received a painful blow at the start of their campaign in the Tunisian Professional League, as they announced that defender Hicham Bakar sustained a serious injury during the match against Tunis Stadium on Saturday, in the opening round of the 2026-2027 sports season.
The club stated in a release on its official page that medical examinations confirmed Bakar has a fracture in his right ankle, sustained during the match held at the Hedi Neffar Complex in Bardo.
The southern capital team has confirmed that the player will undergo surgery in the upcoming period, with his absence from the pitch expected to last around three months, depending on the progress of his health condition and recovery pace after the operation.
Bakar's injury represents a loss for Sfaxien at the start of the season, as he awaits a return to training and matches after completing his treatment and rehabilitation program, depending on the timeline determined by his condition in the coming period.
