Tunisian club Sfaxien have reappointed coach Mohamed Kouki, who officially took charge of the first team today, Tuesday, replacing Nabil Kouki, who was dismissed from his position.

The club has signed a coach to return to the managerial position on a contract that runs until the end of the current season, and he is expected to start his coaching duties today.

This is not Koki's first experience with the team, as he previously managed Club Sfaxien last season and led them to a third-place finish in the Tunisian league.

The decision to sack Nabil Kouki came after the team's loss last Saturday in the fifth round of the league, as they fell at home to Takdim Saqiyat al-Daïr by a single goal. This was the second representative from the governorate of Sfax, which is experiencing its first-ever season in the top flight. The result hastened Kouki's departure.

The new coach takes over a team sitting sixth in the standings with 8 points, four points behind leaders Espérance Tunis, after five rounds.

Sfaxien are preparing for an urgent task as they face Ivorian club Académie Diallo next Saturday away from home in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
