Barcelona starts its journey in the Spanish league for the 2026/2027 season with a match against Elche, after clinching the title in the last two seasons. The team embarks on a quest for a third consecutive title, a challenge that presents an extraordinary task in the club's history.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona has only achieved three consecutive titles in La Liga once since the competition began in the 1928/1929 season, between 2009 and 2011, when Pep Guardiola led the team, with Lionel Messi being the star of that historic generation that dominated the tournament.

Hansi Flick has an impressive record in league competitions, having won the title in every season since taking charge at Bayern Munich. He clinched the Bundesliga title in 2020 and 2021, then secured La Liga with Barcelona in the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons, as he begins his quest for five consecutive league titles against Elche.

Johan Cruyff's Dream Team remains the holder of the best league title streak in Barcelona's history, having won the championship four times in a row between 1991 and 1994, a record for the Catalan club.

The challenge is not limited to Barcelona and Flick, as Juan Garcia aims to achieve a personal milestone by winning the Zamora Trophy for the second consecutive season, after being crowned in his first season with the team in 2026 as the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded in La Liga.

If Juan Garcia succeeds in repeating his achievement, he will reach a milestone that no goalkeeper at Barcelona has achieved during their first two seasons with the club. Victor Valdes holds the record for the best streak for a Barcelona goalkeeper, having won the Zamora Trophy four consecutive times between 2009 and 2012. Meanwhile, Anthony Ramallets won the award twice in consecutive years, in 1956 and 1957, and then again in 1959 and 1960.
