Juventus Eyes River Plate Goalkeeper as Club Pushes for Contract Renewal
Argentinian young goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán of River Plate has caught the attention of Italian club Juventus, who are keeping an eye on the 21-year-old's progress in preparation for a potential move.
According to reports from Italy, Juventus has made some informal contacts and inquiries regarding the goalkeeper, without making an official offer yet, as the Italian club aims to sign a young keeper with good current ability, alongside potential for future development and international presence.
River Plate's management has already begun discussions with Beltrán regarding an extension of his contract, which expires in December 2027, as they aim to extend it for at least one additional year, with an option for a two-year extension.
The Argentinian club intends to raise the release clause value in the goalkeeper's contract, with the possibility of setting a clause at $100 million, similar to several talents that have emerged from the River Plate academy in recent years.
River Plate's management recognizes that Beltrán is one of the club's most promising future projects, and therefore, they are working to secure his continued presence with the team and fend off interest from European clubs.
