Ownership Transfer: What’s Next for Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli?
Al Hilal, Al Ahli, and Al Ittihad have revealed their visions for the upcoming phase after the Ministry of Sports announced the initiation of procedures to transfer 25% of the shares of non-profit institutions to the Public Investment Fund.
Al Ahly has confirmed that the club's board of directors will continue to perform its duties normally, stating that the dissolution of the non-profit organization and the transfer of its shares do not affect the composition of the company's board.
The club clarified that the term of the current council has been extended for 90 days, starting from July 17, 2026, to ensure the continuity of work and the implementation of approved plans and programs.
At Al Hilal, the club's company emphasized that the board of directors, headed by Prince Nawaf bin Saad, will remain in place despite the dissolution of the non-profit organization and the transfer of its 25% stake to the Public Investment Fund.
Al Hilal has announced the extension of the current board's term for an additional 90 days, continuing its strategic and supervisory responsibilities while overseeing contracts and the club's commitments as usual.
On the other hand, the federation announced the conclusion of Fahd Sindi's duties as chairman of the club's board, coinciding with the completion of the second phase of ownership transfer procedures and the restructuring of the governance system.
Al-Ittihad has thanked Fahd Sindi for the time he spent serving the club, expressing confidence in the upcoming phase under the new structure.
These developments are part of the sports investment and privatization project, which aims to enhance the investment value of clubs, improve governance standards, and support the sustainability and growth of the Saudi sports sector in the coming years.
