Balde: Rodri is one of the best midfielders, we must win all titles

Alejandro Balde, Barcelona's left-back, spoke after his team's 2-1 victory over Al Ahly in the Joan Gamper Trophy, touching on the Rodri transfer as well as his stance on competing with Joao Cancelo.

Balde stated: "Rodri is a very good player, right now I think he is the best or one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, he has the Ballon d'Or, and he is a player with a lot of experience, and I think he will help the team a lot."

Regarding his personal situation with João Cancelo's return and the competition for the left-back position, Balde said: "The truth is that I am a very calm person. It is true that lately there has been a lot of talk about me and various matters, but I believe I am doing things well."

He added: "I am a person who never looks at the press, but in the end, it is inevitable that these things reach me. I must focus on myself and continue to work."

Balde spoke about his physical condition, saying: "I feel very good now," following some discomfort during the early days of the pre-season.

Regarding Barcelona's preparations for the league opener against Elche, Balde stated: "The team is arriving in good shape." He noted that the preparation period was slightly different due to the absence of international players who participated in the World Cup.
