Barcelona Claims Joan Gamper Trophy with Victory Over Al Ahly
Barcelona has won the 2026 Joan Gamper Trophy after defeating Al Ahly 2-1 in a match held at Spotify Camp Nou.
Barcelona opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Hamza Abdel Karim, who received a brilliant pass from Balde, giving the Catalan team the lead in the match.
Just before the end of the first half, Barcelona doubled their lead with a second goal in the 45th minute through Raphinha from the penalty spot, after Shadi Riyad was fouled to earn the penalty.
Al Ahly successfully reduced the deficit at the start of the second half, as Ahmed Sayed Zizo scored the team's first goal in the 51st minute, following a brilliant pass from new Algerian signing Mansour Bakar.
In the 90+1 minute, Barcelona was awarded a penalty after a foul by Ahmed Eid, but Anthony Gordon squandered the chance to score the third goal, leaving the score at 2-1.
