Memphis Depay Extends Contract with Corinthians Until 2028
Brazilian club Corinthians has reversed its previous decision not to renew the contract of Dutch striker Memphis Depay for financial reasons, and has officially announced a new agreement with the player to remain with the team until July 2028.
This move comes after new negotiations between the two parties, where Depay agreed to lower part of his financial demands, which helped reach a formula that fits the club's financial situation.
Corinthians had announced about a week ago that they would not extend the player's contract, but the situation changed later and negotiations resumed, culminating in a new two-year deal.
Since joining Corinthians in September 2024, Depay has played 79 matches for the team, scoring 20 goals and providing 15 assists, contributing to the club's triumph in the Paulista Championship, the Copa do Brasil, and the Brazilian Super Cup.
Thus, the Dutch striker continues his journey with Corinthians until mid-2028, putting an end to the controversy surrounding his future in recent weeks.
