Newcastle Initiates Talks to Sign Nico Gonzalez

Newcastle United has entered negotiations with Manchester City to explore the possibility of signing Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez during the current summer transfer window.

According to David Ornstein, exploratory talks between the two clubs have begun regarding a deal for the 24-year-old player, but they have not yet reached an advanced stage.

Newcastle is seeking new reinforcements in midfield after experiencing major changes in this position. Gonzales is viewed as a suitable option due to his ability to play as a pivot and in midfield.

Gonzalez joined Manchester City from Porto in February 2025 for around €60 million, and he is contracted to the English club until 2029.

Negotiations remain in their early stages, with Newcastle continuing to explore several options to bolster their midfield ahead of the new season.
