Busquets Joins Barcelona Athletic Coaching Staff
Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has returned to the club, joining the coaching staff of Barcelona Athletic as an assistant to coach Juliano Belletti.
The reserve team will benefit from Busquets' vast experience and knowledge of football, as he is currently undergoing a training course in preparation for starting his coaching career.
Sergio Busquets is returning to Barcelona after three years away from the first team, following a remarkable 15-season career with the club. He recently completed his final stint with Inter Miami, where he played for two and a half seasons, before announcing his retirement from football.
During his time at Barcelona, Busquets played 722 matches, placing him third on the list of players with the most appearances in the club's history. He also won 32 titles, including 9 La Liga championships, 7 Copa del Rey trophies, and 7 Spanish Super Cups, along with 3 UEFA Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Super Cups, and 3 FIFA Club World Cups.
He also lifted the World Cup with the Spanish national team in 2010 and the UEFA European Championship in 2012.
Busquets thus begins a new phase in his career within the club where he grew up in the 'La Masia' academy, utilizing his nearly two-decade experience at the highest levels of football to help develop the young players of Barcelona Athletic.
