Official: Paris Saint-Germain Signs Ferran Torres

Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a contract that runs until 2031. The player will wear the number 9 shirt for the French club in a deal that cost the Parisian club around €50 million.

Torres arrives in Paris after a successful career in European football, which began at Valencia's academy, where he joined at the age of seven after starting with futsal. He made his first-team debut for Valencia in 2017, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to play in La Liga.

In 97 matches with Valencia, Torres left his mark and set several early records, before winning his first trophy with the first team by clinching the Copa del Rey in 2019. In 2020, the Spanish forward moved to Manchester City, where he played under Pep Guardiola, scoring his first goal for the team against Burnley in the EFL Cup just days after making his Premier League debut against Wolverhampton.

Torres played 43 matches for Manchester City, scoring 16 goals and providing 4 assists. He contributed to the team's triumph in the Premier League and the EFL Cup, and reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2021. In the 2021-2022 season, Torres transferred to Barcelona during the winter transfer window, becoming a key player in the Catalan side's attack.

During his time at Barcelona, he made 207 appearances, scoring 65 goals, and contributed to the club's three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and two Supercopa de España titles. Torres was instrumental in the 2025 Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, scoring a goal that helped push the match into extra time, before the Catalan team lifted the trophy.

On the international level, Torres began his journey with Spain's youth teams, winning the Under-17 European Championship in 2017, followed by the Under-19 European Championship in 2019. With the senior national team, Torres has made 65 international appearances so far, having been given his debut by Luis Enrique against Germany in the UEFA Nations League in 2020.

The Spanish forward participated in the UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, before continuing to collect titles with his national team, winning the UEFA Nations League in 2023, and then the UEFA Euro 2024.

Torres arrives at Paris Saint-Germain carrying the title of World Cup 2026, having played a crucial role in the final against Argentina, where he scored the only goal of the match in extra time, leading Spain to victory. He also received the award for Best Player in the final.
