Official: Al-Shorta Signs Mohanad Ali

Al-Shorta has confirmed the return of Iraqi national team striker Mohanad Ali, known as 'Mimi', to the squad following the conclusion of his recent professional experience with Dibba Al-Fujairah in the UAE.

Mimi is considered one of the most prominent names to have represented "Qithara" throughout its history, making a name for himself with the team before embarking on a professional career.

A final agreement has been reached between the two parties on all contract terms, effectively closing the file on the striker's return to Baghdad.

The player has signed an official contract with Al-Shorta that includes a special clause allowing him to leave the club immediately and granting him an international transfer certificate should a suitable professional offer come in from abroad.

This step was taken to grant the player the freedom to move and achieve his ambition of returning to professional football whenever the opportunity arises, while currently maintaining his technical stability.

Despite receiving lucrative financial offers from major local clubs such as Erbil and Zakho, "Mimi" preferred to return to Al-Shorta.

The main reason behind the decision was the player's desire for stability and to work under the guidance of Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi, with whom he has a successful previous working relationship, alongside his emotional connection to the club that introduced him to the fans.

Al-Shorta's management is seeking to strengthen the team's front line through this deal before the start of the Iraq Stars League, as well as before entering the AFC Champions League 2.

Mohannad Ali is set to join the team's training in the coming hours, as they gear up for the new season in which the "Green" aims to compete for all titles.

Mimi's return represents a huge morale boost for Al-Shorta fans, confirming the club's desire to bring back its former players to lead the new project.
