Duhok FC is grappling with a severe financial crisis, prompting the management to close the club's doors and inform all employees not to report for work until further notice. According to media sources, the difficult financial situation forced the management to take this step at a time when the team was working on strengthening its squad for the new season of the Iraqi Premier League. Despite the circumstances, Duhok successfully completed several signings during the current summer transfer window. The club signed three Iranian players and added Syrian star Mahmoud Mawas from Al-Shorta. The club's management also attempted to sign Iraqi national team star Ali Jassim, but negotiations did not conclude, and the player has yet to finalize his destination. Sources described the club's transfer activity as "acceptable," but they emphasized that the ongoing crisis could impact the team's stability ahead of the season's kickoff. Duhok finished the previous season 2025-2026 in tenth place with 50 points, achieving 13 wins, 11 draws, and 14 losses. Duhok fans hope that supportive entities will intervene to rescue the club from its crisis and secure administrative and financial stability to ensure the team's normal participation in upcoming competitions.
