Details of the Al-Zawraa and Duhok match

Iraqi football fans are looking forward to the match between Duhok and Al-Zawraa this Thursday evening, October 9, 2026, at Duhok Stadium, where Duhok will host Al-Zawraa in one of the strongest and most beautiful matches of the ninth round of the Iraq Stars League.

The match kicks off at 6 PM Baghdad time, with a highly anticipated atmosphere as Duhok's stadium is expected to be filled to capacity in support of the home side against the Iraqi football giant.

Al-Zawraa enter the match in outstanding form this season, making them the top contenders for the title that has eluded the club for many years.

Al-Zawraa sit in second place in the Iraq Stars League with 18 points, behind surprise leaders Al-Karma. The team boasts a remarkable group of players who blend experience and youth, led by shining names in the Iraq Stars League and the national team.

The team, led by its coaching staff, aims to continue its winning streak and secure victory in Duhok to put pressure on the leaders Al-Karma and reclaim the top spot that has eluded them for years. Al-Zawraa is considered the most decorated club in the Iraq Stars League with 14 titles, and its fans are eager for a fifteenth title.

On the other hand, Duhok enters the match with a start that is completely contrary to expectations. The team, which finished last season at a more than wonderful level, currently occupies the eleventh place with only 9 points, a position that is not at all befitting the team's capabilities.

Duhok are always considered a good and tough team, especially when playing at home in Al-Shamal. The Mountain Falcons have some outstanding players, both local and professional, and they are trying to exploit the home advantage and the support of their fans to achieve victory over Tishreen and stop the loss of points.

Duhok's coaching staff understands that a victory over Al-Zawraa will serve as a real starting point for the team this season to return to contention for the top positions.

The last encounter between the two teams was one of the most beautiful matches of last season, ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw that saw significant twists and a comeback from both sides, confirming that today's match will not be easy for either team.
