Miguel Moreira Appointed Head Coach of Smouha Youth Team

The board of Smouha Club, led by Dr. Mohamed Bilal, has contracted Portuguese coach Miguel Moreira to take charge of the youth football sector. This move reflects the club's vision to modernize its sports system by utilizing global training schools capable of selecting and refining young talents for the future.

Smouha's management aims to develop its youth and junior sectors by utilizing European expertise, establishing a strong base of promising talents to serve as the main support for the club's first team.

The 41-year-old Portuguese coach has an outstanding academic and coaching background; he holds two bachelor's degrees in physical education and sports management, a master's degree in high-performance sports, and is currently a doctoral researcher in sports science focusing on evaluating and developing training processes.

The new head coach of Smoha's youth sector boasts a broad coaching experience spanning nearly 18 years, including 15 years at the professional level; he has worked with coaching staff at clubs in the Portuguese and Brazilian leagues, led teams in Lithuania, Estonia, and Oman, and also took charge of the Lebanese Olympic national team.

His career is also rich with participation in major continental tournaments such as the UEFA Europa Conference League, Copa Sudamericana, and the AFC Asian Cup, which the Smouha board views as a great gain for the club's future project.
