Official: Ivory Coast FA Announces Departure of Emerse Faé

The Ivory Coast Football Federation announced today, Friday, the end of its journey with head coach Emerse Faé, following the expiration of his contract which was set to end on July 31, 2026, confirming that it will not be renewed.

The federation stated in an official statement that it appreciates the efforts made by Faïé during his tenure with the national team, praising his commitment, professionalism, and the services he provided to Ivorian football. However, they have decided to end the contractual relationship between the two parties.

Faye's departure comes just weeks after the Ivory Coast national team was eliminated in the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup, following a 2-1 defeat to Norway, despite successfully leading the "Elephants" to advance past the group stage for the first time in their World Cup history.

The Ivory Coast Football Federation indicated that it will announce the identity of the new head coach for the senior national team later, along with the formation of the coaching staff that will lead the team during the upcoming phase.
