Real Madrid Set to Loan Franco Mastantuono as River Plate Watches On

Real Madrid is set to loan Argentine winger Franco Mastanternu during the summer transfer window, as the player has fallen out of coach José Mourinho's plans, with the club eager to give him the opportunity to continue his development.

According to "The Athletic," Mastantuono is open to a return to River Plate on loan, just one year after his transfer to Real Madrid for a fee of €63 million. He is also attracting interest from Benfica.

Real Madrid sees a loan as the most suitable option for the 18-year-old player, especially after he struggled to adapt to European football during his first season.

Real Madrid is working to reduce its squad size after bolstering its ranks with several signings, as it approaches new contract agreements, before concentrating on the departure of some players.

Mastantuno faces strong competition in the forward line, with the presence of Brahim Diaz and Bernardo Silva, alongside the impending arrival of Jan Duymandi, while waiting for Rodrigo's return from injury, which reduces his chances of participation.

The Argentine player has made 35 appearances for Real Madrid, totaling 1500 minutes, after starting his season strongly under the management of Xabi Alonso. However, his role has gradually diminished following Alonso's departure, leading to a mutual agreement between the club and the player regarding a potential loan move.
