Courtois: Vinícius needs more confidence, and this is the secret to the comeback

Thibaut Courtois appeared in press statements following Real Madrid's victory over AEK Athens by a score of 3-2 in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League.

Courtois said in his statements: "We knew we were facing a tough match at the opponent's stadium, as they are a team that plays with great intensity, and we expected them to start strongly. They created four chances in the first 15 minutes, but we handled the situation well and managed to equalize."

He added: "We reacted well and believed in our ability to win until the end."

Regarding Real Madrid's ability to come back in matches, the Belgian goalkeeper explained: "I don't know, it is about believing until the last moment, as this is part of the identity of this team and club. We never give up, just like what happened against AS Roma. The victory was important to continue competing to finish the league stage in the top eight positions."

He concluded regarding whether Vinícius needs more confidence, saying: "Yes, but the whole team trusts him. In the end, the opponent defends well, and it is not easy for Vinícius or Kylian Mbappé. The coach relies on a rotation policy, and everyone gets their chance, which is good."
