Bellingham: Valverde's goal is better than mine, and this is the secret of the comeback
Englishman Jude Bellingham has won the Man of the Match award in Real Madrid's match against AEK Athens, after contributing to the royal team's victory with a score of 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League, by scoring his team's first equalizing goal during a match that saw two lead changes.
Bellingham said after the match: "It was a very difficult game, we put in a lot of effort to achieve the win, and we managed to come back twice. It is a very important victory in our journey during the current season of the UEFA Champions League."
The English midfielder added: "It's a new comeback, but this is the mentality of Real Madrid that we need to maintain throughout the rest of the season. We are excited about facing Valencia, and we hope to achieve victory, because the next match is always the most important."
Speaking about his goal against the Greek team, Bellingham explained: "It came from instinct, with a bit of skill, and it was a great pass from Marc Cucurella."
He concluded his remarks praising the goal scored by Fede Valverde in stoppage time, saying: "It was much better than my goal. It’s not surprising that Fede shot in that way, but it was a hugely important goal for us, which was clearly reflected in the team's reaction after scoring it. We are very happy to have picked up the three points."
