Nottingham Forest Extends Ibrahim Sangare's Contract Until 2029

Nottingham Forest has announced the renewal of Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Sangare's contract until the summer of 2029, allowing him to continue his journey with the team following his impressive performances since joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2023.

Sangaré (28 years old) participated in 43 matches across all competitions during the 2025-2026 season, including 14 matches in the UEFA Europa League, and was a key player in the team's continental journey, before a minor injury prevented him from participating in the semifinals. He shone against Tottenham last December, scoring one goal and providing two assists, before joining the Ivory Coast national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sangare stated after signing the new contract: "I am extremely happy to renew my contract. It is also an opportunity to thank the fans who have continuously supported us, even during tough times. Nottingham Forest has become a family for me over the past three years, and I have learned a lot and look forward to working with the new coach and the start of the season."

The club's football executive, George Sirianos, confirmed that Sangaré is an important element within the team and is respected by his peers. He noted that extending his contract is a reward for his significant impact both on and off the pitch, reflecting his shared ambition with the club to continue progressing in the coming years.
