Ahmed Hegazi has started a new chapter in his sporting career after Neom FC announced the appointment of the former Egyptian defender as assistant sporting director, following his recent retirement from football.
Ahmed Hegazy is continuing his journey at Neom Club, but this time away from the matchday atmosphere, leveraging his extensive experience gained over years on the pitch.
The Egyptian defender has concluded his football career following the end of his contract with Neom, quickly embarking on a new mission within the administrative structure of the Saudi club.
Neom has welcomed back its former captain to the organizational structure, affirming that his selection for this position reflects trust in his accumulated skills and experiences both on and off the pitch.
Hegazy's appointment as assistant sporting director comes after a successful career with the team, during which he played numerous matches and contributed his leadership experience to support his teammates.
The 35-year-old player joined Neom in the summer of 2024, arriving from Al-Ittihad, and wore the team's jersey for two seasons.
During his time with Neom, Hegazy participated in 52 matches across various competitions, scoring one goal and providing another assist, before transitioning to an administrative role.
Neom Club hopes to benefit from Hegazy's extensive experience in its new mission, as part of its plan to strengthen the sports and administrative system in the upcoming phase.
