Sherif Ekramy, the first-team goalkeeper for Pyramids FC, has officially announced his retirement from football, concluding a remarkable 30-year career.

Sherif Ekramy took to his X account to share: "After more than 30 years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to the pitch and hang up my gloves. It's time for me to make a decision that every player knows will come one day, but it's never easy, because you're not just leaving a job, you're leaving a whole life. Thank you to every club I played for."

He continued: "Feyenoord and El Gouna, each of you added so much to me as a person, not just as a player. Thank you, Pyramids, for being the final chapter where I was fortunate to be part of a generation that carved its own history for the club. However, Al Ahly will always hold a special place in my heart. Al Ahly is not just a club I played for... it’s the place where I was born, grew up, learned, and matured. From there, people recognized me, and I achieved everything I dreamed of as a player. Al Ahly is unlike any other."

In a touching conclusion, the player expressed: "Thank you to every coach who trained me, to every player who shared the dressing room with me, and to every worker and administrator who quietly helped us succeed. Thank you to all the fans who supported me on this journey, and thank you to everyone who criticized me... because you were the reason for the person I have become today. I lived the most beautiful moments of my life with you and learned from you in the toughest times. And a special thanks to my family, who were present at every moment and endured the pressures of this job often more than I did. From my heart, I say thank you to you all and to football."
