Milan Considering Foden Signing if Leão Leaves
AC Milan has begun exploring the possibility of signing Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden as one of the options to strengthen the squad, should Rafael Leão depart during the summer transfer window.
According to "Football Italia," an intermediary has offered Foden to several clubs, including Milan, who are seriously considering the deal.
This comes after a difficult season for Foden with Manchester City, marked by tension in his relationship with the club, as well as his exclusion from England's squad for the 2026 World Cup, while his contract expires in the summer of 2027 and he has no intention of renewing it.
The source added that Manchester City is asking for between €50 and €60 million for the player's sale, a figure that AC Milan believes they can raise by selling Rafael Leão.
The report indicated that Foden and Liao have comparable salaries, each earning between €7 million and €7.5 million annually, making the transfer financially feasible.
However, the transfer remains contingent on Liao's departure first, alongside Manchester City's acquisition of a suitable replacement. Enzo Fernandez is the English club's preferred target, so the idea is still in the study phase and has not yet turned into formal negotiations.
