Real Madrid Fears Vinicius Departure, Identifies Replacement
Carlos Carpio, the vice president of the Spanish newspaper "Marca," spoke about the future of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, whose contract with the Royal Club expires at the end of next season (Summer 2027).
According to Carpio, the financial gap between Vinicius's demands and the offer from Real Madrid remains significantly large, indicating that the player will need to clearly reduce his demands if he wishes to renew his contract with the royal club.
The source added that next season could be Vinicius's last in a Real Madrid shirt, explaining that the most likely scenario at this point is his departure for free in the summer of 2027 when his current contract expires.
The report indicates that Real Madrid's management is planning to hold a crucial meeting with the player this summer to determine his future definitively, whether by reaching an agreement for an extension or deciding to sell him during the current transfer window to avoid losing him for free at the end of his contract.
Meanwhile, the Royal Club has identified Norwegian striker Erling Haaland as a key option to replace Vinicius in the event of his departure, although the deal appears extremely complicated due to the long contract binding the player to Manchester City and the difficulty in convincing the English club to part with one of its star players.
Despite these reports, Vinicius and Real Madrid wish to continue together for as long as possible, but so far no agreement has been reached regarding the signing of a new contract.
