Anderson: Bellingham is Amazing, We Made It Tough
England midfielder Elliot Anderson stated that facing Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup was one of the toughest matches the English team has played in the tournament.
Anderson told BBC Radio 5 Live after the 2-1 victory over Norway: "It was a very difficult match, and there are no excuses. We could have made things easier for ourselves if we had played more football and not had to run as much."
He added: "I started to feel cramps several times during the match, but the fighting spirit of the players is amazing, and it's great to be a part of it. The fans should be proud of the amount of fight and determination we showed."
Regarding the competition in the tournament, the English midfielder explained that no team in this World Cup can be considered an easy opponent, saying: "Every team poses a significant challenge, and we hope to come out victorious in the next two matches."
Anderson noted that England's performance was not perfect throughout, but he believes the team has immense potential, adding: "At times we were good, and at other times we were not at the same level. When we reach our best version, we will be a terrifying team."
He concluded his remarks about Jude Bellingham, who scored both goals: "How does he do that? He's always in the right place. It's a tremendous skill; he's an amazing player."
