Haaland: We Put Norway on the Map, Real Madrid is Lucky
Norway's Erling Haaland expressed immense pride in his country's journey in the 2026 World Cup, despite their quarter-final exit against England (2-1).
After the match, Haaland said: "We are affected by what we achieved, and that we were able to unite the Norwegian people around the team. There is a lot of positivity and joy that people felt in our country, as well as here at the tournament."
He added: "It's hard to think about everything that happened now; it feels crazy. You have to experience this yourself to realize its magnitude, and that has always been my goal."
The Manchester City striker confirmed that his ambitions go beyond individual achievements, stating: "I want to put Norway on the global football map and make everyone see us as one of the best teams in the world."
He continued: "I believe we have put Norway on the map here, and everyone now knows the capabilities of this team."
He concluded by saying: "Real Madrid and England are lucky to have Jude; everyone wants Jude Bellingham on their team. He is one of the best players in the world."
