Napoli Close to Signing Zeballos as CSKA Moscow Makes Big Offer

Napoli is close to finalizing a deal for Argentine winger Exequiel Zeballos from Boca Juniors, having reached a verbal agreement with the player. However, the involvement of Russian side CSKA Moscow in the negotiations could complicate the transfer during the summer window.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 24-year-old Zeballos has rejected a contract renewal with Boca Juniors, opening the door for his departure at the end of the year, as Napoli aims to sign him at a low cost.

The report added that Boca Juniors previously demanded around €10 million for the player's sale, but their financial demands have decreased in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Napoli has reached a verbal agreement with Zeballos, although they still need to offload an unwanted player, with Noa Lang being a top candidate.

The same source noted that Napoli's delay in closing the deal has allowed other clubs to enter the race, with CSKA Moscow leading the charge by offering a five-year contract that would see the player earn €4 million annually, totaling €20 million over the contract's duration.

Zeballos has played over 100 matches for Boca Juniors and continues to attract interest from European clubs as his contract nears its end, making his future one of the key stories in the summer transfer market.
