The Argentine team will face Egypt in the Round of 16 on July 7.

Argentina took the lead through their star captain Lionel Messi in the 29th minute, receiving a long pass from Lisandro Martinez, skillfully controlling the ball inside the penalty area before finding the net.

In the 59th minute, Cape Verde equalized with a goal from Deroy Duarte, who found the ball inside the penalty area and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The match went into extra time, where Lisandro Martinez scored Argentina's second goal in the 93rd minute, capitalizing on a corner kick and unleashing a stunning shot that found the back of the net.

Cape Verde equalized again through Sidney Cabral in the 103rd minute, with an unstoppable shot from inside the penalty area that Emiliano Martinez failed to save.

In the 111th minute, Argentina clinched the victory with an own goal from Dini Borges, following a cross from a corner taken by Lionel Messi, which Romero headed before deflecting off Dini and into the net.
