Chelsea Moves to Sign Pep Chavarria
Chelsea has begun direct negotiations with Rayo Vallecano to sign Spanish left-back Pep Chavarría during the summer transfer window, as part of the London club's efforts to strengthen this position before the new season begins.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, initial contacts have already been made with the player, who has expressed his desire to move to Stamford Bridge, while Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations between Chelsea and Rayo Vallecano have officially begun at the club level.
Coach Xabi Alonso believes that Chavarria is a suitable option to strengthen the left flank, thanks to his experience in La Liga and his defensive and offensive abilities, especially after the changes that this position has undergone in the ranks of "the Blues".
Despite progress in the talks, the two parties have not yet reached a final agreement, as Rayo Vallecano is holding onto their player, who is under contract until 2030. This means Chelsea will need to make a convincing offer to finalize the deal in the coming days.
