Arsenal and Chelsea eye Paris Brunner due to AS Monaco's financial crisis
AS Monaco face financial pressures that may force them to agree to sell German forward Paris Brunner during the upcoming winter transfer window, amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and several top European clubs, according to TEAMtalk.
Paris Brunner, aged 20, has scored six goals in eight starts this season, attracting the attention of Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, who have included him in their list of potential targets for January. Chelsea and Tottenham are also closely monitoring his development.
Paris Brunner has joined AS Monaco in 2024 after coming from Borussia Dortmund's academy. He previously gained experience on loan at Cercle Brugge before returning to the French club and establishing himself in the first team.
AS Monaco need to raise more funds after the collapse of Folarin Balogun's transfer to Everton for €48 million, alongside declining broadcasting revenues, the loss of Champions League income, and pressures related to debt and restrictions on the wage bill.
According to "TEAMtalk" sources, AS Monaco are considering selling Paris Brunner in January while keeping him on loan until the end of the season, allowing the club to generate funds and benefit from his services during the second half of the season.
Meanwhile, Balogun's role within the team has diminished after his failed transfer to Everton, while Brunner has seized his opportunity and asserted himself in the frontline, becoming one of the standout rising talents at AS Monaco, with increasing interest in signing him.
