Everton Moves to Sign Chelsea Striker

Everton has started its efforts to sign English striker Liam Delap from Chelsea on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window, as part of its quest to strengthen its attack line before the new season kicks off.

According to 'CaughtOffside', citing 'Football Insider', Everton has made a contract offer to the 23-year-old Delap, accelerating its negotiations to finalize the deal, while Chelsea does not object to the player's departure but insists on receiving around 40 million pounds to agree to sell him.

The site added that Everton appears to be in a good position to complete the deal, despite several Premier League clubs monitoring the striker's situation, who joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2025 on a six-year contract, after scoring 12 goals in the Premier League with his former team.

Despite the high hopes that accompanied his move to Stamford Bridge, the strong competition for starting positions has raised doubts about his future with Chelsea, prompting Everton to move to sign him during the summer transfer market.

The same source confirmed that Delap possesses the qualities Everton is looking for in a traditional striker, thanks to his physical strength, movements, and ability to occupy the traditional center-forward position, noting that finalizing the deal early could give the club an advantage before other competitors enter the race to sign the player.
