Chelsea Sets Chalobah's Price as Como Makes Initial Offer to Sign Him
The Italian club Como continues its efforts to sign the English defender Trevoh Chalobah during the summer transfer window, but the financial gap with Chelsea is still hindering the completion of the deal.
According to the 'Football Italia' website, citing transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Como has made an offer worth 25 million euros, plus 2 million euros in incentives and variables, to acquire Chalobah's services.
The source indicated that Chelsea does not intend to part with the English defender for this amount, as they have set their demands at 30 million euros, along with an additional 5 million euros in performance-related incentives, leaving the gap between the offer and the demand still existing.
The report added that negotiations might witness developments in the coming period if both parties succeed in narrowing the financial gap, especially since Inter Milan is also monitoring the player's situation, which increases the difficulty of the deal for the Italian club.
Chelsea benefits from Chalobah's increased market value, amid expectations of his starting role with the England national team against Panama in the 2026 World Cup, to compensate for the absence of Reece James due to injury.
The defender, a graduate of Chelsea's academy, will turn twenty-seven next month, having played 47 matches with the team last season, during which he scored three goals.
