Egypt Protests Against Muhannad Lashin's Warning

Saturday 27-06-2026
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir revealed that the Egyptian national team's delegation protested against the warning given to the team's star, Mohanad Lasheen, in the match against Iran in the 2026 World Cup.

Mohannad Lasheen received a yellow card during today's match against Iran, which means he will miss the upcoming match between Egypt and Australia in the Round of 32 of the World Cup, as he had previously received a yellow card against New Zealand.

Shobier said on his Facebook account: "Thank God, Mohamed Salah has a very slight strain and will catch the next match, God willing. Mohamed Abdelmonem has an ankle injury, away from the knee, and hopefully, he will be ready for the Australia match. Hamdi Fathi is close to returning. Hossam Abdelmaguid has completed the medical protocol and is ready, God willing. Only Ahmed Fattouh still needs to have a scan, after which the extent of the injury will be announced, God willing."

He added: "Regarding Mohanad Lasheen, the Egyptian delegation will submit a request to cancel the yellow card, and of course, we are waiting for the response... Pray for us, may God grant us victory."

The Egyptian national team drew 1-1 with Iran in a positive result on Saturday morning in the third and final round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian national team succeeded in qualifying for the round of 32 in the World Cup as the runner-up of their group.
